Phone Snatchers Kill Middle-aged Man In Kaduna

Tragedy struck in Kaduna after suspected phone snatchers killed an unidentified middle-aged man at Kawo Bridge in Kaduna North Local Government Area.

The incident reportedly occurred around 8 p.m. on Saturday as the victim was rushing to board a commercial tricycle, popularly known as keke Napep, when he was approached by a group of youths.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers demanded his mobile phone. While he was trying to hand it over, one of them allegedly stabbed him.

A witness recounted that the victim collapsed immediately after the attack, while the assailants fled the scene.

Efforts by passersby to catch the suspects were unsuccessful.

Residents described Kawo Bridge as a known hotspot for criminal activities and called on security agencies to strengthen patrols and surveillance in the area.

They noted that similar incidents had occurred there in the past, putting commuters at constant risk.

Traders in the area also expressed concern over rising insecurity, urging authorities to take urgent action, including deploying more police personnel and installing surveillance cameras.
