 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. Phone Snatchers Kill Middle-aged Man In Kaduna


Tragedy struck in Kaduna after suspected phone snatchers killed an unidentified middle-aged man at Kawo Bridge in Kaduna North Local Government Area. 


The incident reportedly occurred around 8 p.m. on Saturday as the victim was rushing to board a commercial tricycle, popularly known as keke Napep, when he was approached by a group of youths.


Eyewitnesses said the attackers demanded his mobile phone. While he was trying to hand it over, one of them allegedly stabbed him.


A witness recounted that the victim collapsed immediately after the attack, while the assailants fled the scene. 


Efforts by passersby to catch the suspects were unsuccessful.


Residents described Kawo Bridge as a known hotspot for criminal activities and called on security agencies to strengthen patrols and surveillance in the area.


They noted that similar incidents had occurred there in the past, putting commuters at constant risk.


Traders in the area also expressed concern over rising insecurity, urging authorities to take urgent action, including deploying more police personnel and installing surveillance cameras.
