Vin Diesel cries in Paul Walker tribute at Cannes with Meadow Walker

Vin Diesel delivered an emotional tribute to his late friend and Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker during the Cannes Film Festival, where the original 2001 film was screened for its 25th anniversary.

The 58-year-old actor struggled to hold back tears as he honored Walker, sharing the moment with Walker’s daughter, Meadow, who joined him on stage.

Diesel praised Meadow as a source of strength, telling her that her father would be proud, before the two embraced.

In his heartfelt speech, Diesel reflected on the brotherhood he shared with Walker, recalling memories from movie premieres and the early days of filming. He admitted it was difficult to rewatch the first film, remembering when Walker revealed he had a young daughter at the time.

Meadow, now 27, has followed in her father’s footsteps with a career in acting and modeling, even appearing in Fast X as a cameo.

The Cannes screening also featured appearances by Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez, further celebrating the franchise’s legacy.

Looking ahead, Diesel confirmed that the saga will continue with Fast Forever, the 11th and final installment, set for release in March 2028.

He has expressed his desire to bring back Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, for the finale, though details remain unclear.

Beyond the films, Diesel announced that Peacock will expand the franchise into television with four new shows, ensuring that the themes of family and brotherhood central to the series will live on for years to come.
