Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search.  IGP DISU COMMEMORATES FATHER'S DAY, CELEBRATES FATHERS ACROSS NIGERIA


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, on behalf of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, commemorates Father's Day and celebrates fathers across Nigeria for their invaluable contributions to family cohesion, social stability, and national development. The IGP recognizes the sacrifices, dedication, and leadership demonstrated by fathers in raising responsible citizens and strengthening the moral foundations upon which a peaceful and prosperous society is built.


The IGP acknowledges the pivotal role fathers play in nurturing responsible children, promoting sound moral values, and instilling the principles of discipline, integrity, hard work, and patriotism that are essential for nation-building. He notes that the sacrifices made daily by fathers in providing guidance, protection, and support for their families continue to strengthen the social fabric of society and contribute significantly to national progress.


The Inspector-General particularly salutes police officers who, despite the demanding nature of their responsibilities, continue to serve as dedicated fathers and guardians within their families. He recognizes the sacrifices made by officers who often spend long hours away from home in the service of the nation, while remaining committed to their responsibilities as parents and role models.
