  Bronx Mother Found Not Criminally Responsible After Killing Her Two Young Sons A Bronx judge has found 26-year-old Dimone Fleming not criminally responsible by reason of mental disease or defect for the 2022 deaths of her two young sons after psychiatric evaluations concluded that she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis at the time. In November 2022, police found 3-year-old Daishawn Fleming and 11-month-old Octavius Canada with multiple stab wounds in a bathtub at a family shelter in the Bronx. Psychiatric evaluations conducted for both the prosecution and defence reportedly concluded that Fleming was experiencing a severe break from reality when the deaths occurred. Experts said she had experienced hyperreligious and paranoid delusions, hallucinations and a serious mental breakdown that had begun during her pregnancy.  ANAMBRA POLICE STEPS UP AN ALL-INCLUSIVE OPERATION STRATEGY AS THE COMMAND RECEIVES THE NIGERIA FOREST SECURITY SERVICE ON A COURTESY VISIT


The Anambra State Police Command today, 10th July 2026 received the leadership of the Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS), Anambra State Command, on a courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters, Awka.


The visit forms part of the Command’s sustained efforts to strengthen its all-inclusive operational strategy by fostering collaboration with critical security stakeholders in enhancing safety and security across Anambra State.


The Command in its remarks, through the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations DCP Ibrahim Ezekiel welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain proactive policing and leverage on strategic partnerships to consolidate the gains already recorded in the fight against crime and criminality in the State. He further urged the Nigeria Forest Security Service to continue to support lawful security operations by providing credible and timely information that would aid crime prevention and detection.


The leader of the delegation Mazi Destiny Jonas appreciated the Commissioner of Police for the warm reception and commended the Command’s proactive approach to security. He assured the Command of the readiness of the Nigeria Forest Security Service to partner with the Police and other security agencies in promoting peace, safety, and security in Anambra State.


The visit concluded with a renewed commitment by both parties to deepen cooperation, strengthen operational coordination, and sustain stakeholder engagement in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police for a safer and more secure Nigeria.
