In the suit marked **LD/10737GCM/2026**, Mary is asking the court to compel the removal of several social media accounts allegedly used to target her, and to restrain named individuals—Yinka Omolola Theisen and Emeka Ugwuonye—as well as unidentified operators of various online accounts from publishing further defamatory content about her on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, and other websites.
The application, filed through her lawyers Jessica Egbafor and Esther Fijo of Greylaw Partners, also seeks a perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from making or publishing what she describes as defamatory, threatening, and harassing materials. She is further demanding the deletion of the disputed posts and accounts, and an order directing the affected social media platforms to disclose information about the account holders to aid investigations.
In a detailed 126-paragraph affidavit in support of the suit, Mary alleged that she has been subjected to a sustained online harassment campaign spanning several years. According to her, the defendants and operators of various blogs and social media pages have published false allegations, manipulated photographs, AI-generated images, insulting caricatures, death wishes, and other offensive content aimed at ridiculing her and damaging her reputation.
She claimed that despite serving legal notices on some of the defendants in 2025 demanding the removal of the offensive publications, the attacks allegedly intensified, with new accounts reportedly created to continue the campaign. Mary specifically accused one of the defendants, a former lawyer, of breaching solicitor-client confidentiality by disclosing information obtained during legal representation.
The entrepreneur, influencer, and brand ambassador stated that the publications have adversely affected her business interests, endorsement deals, and commercial relationships. She also expressed concern that the public circulation of her private contact details has exposed her family members to harassment, causing her emotional distress, anxiety, and fears for her safety.
Justice Abdul-Raheem Tejumade Muyideen has ordered that all court processes be served on the defendants through their last known residential addresses, email addresses, and known social media platforms. The matter has been adjourned for a report on service.
The suit follows cease-and-desist notices issued by Mary in September 2025 to Ugwuonye and Theisen, demanding the immediate removal of alleged defamatory content, public retractions, and apologies across all platforms. In those notices, she sought N1 billion in damages from Ugwuonye and N500 million from Theisen for the alleged harm to her reputation and business interests.
