Political commentator Steven Kefas has described Governor Uba Sani's choice of Jerry Adams as his running mate as a strategic political decision that has significantly strengthened the governor's prospects for reelection in the 2027 governorship election.
In a social media post, Kefas said the nomination alone has increased Uba Sani's chances of securing a second term by more than 70 percent, arguing that Adams enjoys widespread acceptance among the grassroots.
According to him, Jerry Adams has distinguished himself as one of the few government officials who has remained accessible to the people, rather than distancing himself from the public. Kefas noted that such a quality has been largely absent among political appointees from Southern Kaduna over the past 12 years.
He further argued that the development has placed the opposition in Kaduna State under greater pressure ahead of the 2027 polls, claiming that Adams' emergence as running mate has brought Governor Uba Sani closer to victory than ever before.
Kefas described the governor's decision as a "checkmate" against what he termed a weak opposition, adding that political stakeholders from Southern Kaduna should emulate Adams' ability to maintain cordial relationships with people both within and outside government.
The commentator concluded by wishing Jerry Adams and Governor Uba Sani success, expressing optimism about their political future.
