Around 60 migrants arrived by boat at Cala del Barco, a tourist beach near Spain’s La Manga Club, with several jumping into the water and making their way to shore.
The vessel approached the Costa Cálida cove at about 1pm on Wednesday before people onboard began disembarking. Some beachgoers gathered their belongings and moved away from the shoreline, while others were seen calling police.
The migrants then moved from the beach towards nearby towns.
Cala del Barco is a small sandy cove beside the La Manga Club resort, which is known for its beachfront facilities, golf course, football training complex and luxury hotel.
The resort has previously hosted celebrities including David Beckham, Matt Damon, Salma Hayek and Robbie Williams. Beckham also trained there with England ahead of a 2001 World Cup qualifier against Greece.
The football facilities have more recently been used by Arsenal Women and Newcastle United during pre-season training.
