Maria Bartiromo breaks silence after she was fired from Fox News
Maria Bartiromo broke her silence days after leaving Fox News, posting a cryptic photo of a rainbow breaking through storm clouds on X. She thanked followers for their support and promised “more to come,” marking her first public statement since Fox announced her exit on September 3 after more than 12 years at the network.
The company described her departure as a business decision, but reports quickly surfaced claiming she was fired for sharing internal editorial guidance with the Trump administration.
According to outlets like The New York Times, Bartiromo allegedly passed Fox Business directives to White House adviser Peter Navarro after executives instructed anchors to avoid amplifying Trump’s unsubstantiated election claims.
Her attorney, Bryan Freedman, strongly denied those accounts, calling them “absolutely and unequivocally false” and threatening legal action. He insisted Bartiromo remained employed and accused media reports of reckless disregard for the truth.
Bartiromo, who previously worked at CNN and CNBC before joining Fox in 2013, became one of Trump’s most vocal supporters on air, often repeating his false claims about the 2020 election.
Those broadcasts contributed to Fox’s costly defamation settlement with Dominion Voting Systems in 2023.
Trump himself lamented her departure on Truth Social, praising her as “a true warrior” and warning that her many fans would be unhappy to see her go.
