 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. She said with education, girls and women would be able to make informed choices about decisions relating to their health and others. The First Lady was speaking at the quarterly meeting with Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI Zonal and State Coordinators who are the wives of state governors. He said despite being originally from Palestine, the ‘We De Best Music’ boss is silent over the killing of his people. He said DJ Khaled flaunts his luxurious lifestyle on social media but cannot use his influence to speak against the genocide against Palestinian women and children. He described Burna Boy as a “younger version” of controversial veteran singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, saying he is taking his beef with Davido “too far.” Speaking in the latest episode of the ‘Real Ish” podcast, Joe El opined that Davido is “a loving guy.” He said, “Burna Boy is the younger version of how Eedris Abdulkareem used to operate before.  'Abure’s tenure has expired’ — LP BoT says it has taken over affairs of party    The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Labour Party (LP) says it has taken over the affairs of the party. S.O.Z. Ejiofor, chairman of the BoT, in a statement on Wednesday, said the decision was taken to prevent a leadership vacuum in the party. However, a national convention of the party took place in Anambra state on Wednesday, which saw Julius Abure re-elected as chairman of the party. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it did not monitor the LP’s national convention.
