 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. NIGERIAN PRISON SERVICE,DEBUNKS RUMOURS OF CHARLES OKAH'S DEATH TODAY.

               Today wednesday,the Nigerian Prisons Service denied the speculated death of Charles Okah.Rumours had it that Charlse Okah died in prison shortly after he returned from court yesterday tuesday where he attempted to kill himself.The Nigerian Prisons Service spokesman,Francis Enobore,was quoted as saying that the suspect was not dead.Yesterday tuesday,Charles Okah was prevented from committing suicide while in court by security operatives attached to Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court Abuja.He is being tried for terrorism,,the alleged mastermind of the 2010 independence day bombing in Abuja in which scores of people died.In the absence of his counsel in the course of Tuesday's proceedings,he asked Justice Kolawole for permission to speak on what he described as endless trial.Immediately he ended his speech,he took a chair and rushed toward a window on the third floor of the five storey building and tried to take a plunge through the window before security operatives grabbed him.Like seriously,people online publishers should learn to verify their stories before publishing.One more photo below.
