So Linus Williams (Blord) has been released from Kuje prison after fulfilling his bail conditions, finally, freedom after a few weeks in custody. However, here’s the current position of his case:  He is still expected to show up and stand his trial.  If he fails to appear in court even for one day, his bail can be revoked and a bench warrant may be issued against him, meaning a return to Kuje. If the prosecution cannot prove the charges against him, he will be discharged and acquitted. If the prosecution proves the charges, he may be sentenced and sent back to Kuje. I think he should seek a peaceful resolution to the case. Congrats to him on his freedom for now.

The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force today commenced the enforcement of the use of 'EKO Refrigerated Meat Vans' as the only authorised means of carrying processed meat in a hygienic way from approved slaughter houses and abattoirs to designated meat markets within the State.
Deputy Superintendent of Police and Acting Chairman of the Agency, Mr. Wilson Alaba, who led the enforcement operations at Oko-Oba Abattoir Markets, Agege, disclosed that many motorcycles, rickety vehicles and other unauthorised means of carrying processed meat were dislodged within the market.
He disclosed further that the enforcement operations became necessary to ensure that the reformation of the Red Meat and Meat Hygiene Law is enforced and that the meat consumed in Lagos is processed and transported in a wholesome and clean manner.
While noting that the enforcement teams were deployed to different approved abattoirs across the State, Alaba, however, enjoined members of the Butchers Association of Oko-Oba and other relevant stakeholders to immediately comply as anybody caught using unauthorised means of carrying processed meat within the State would be charged to court.
According to the Vice President Refrigerated Van (Agege) Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited (Operator of Eko Meat Van), Alhaji Niniola Ramonu, the measures adopted by the State Government was to make sure that well-preserved processed meat is sold to members of the public.
He disclosed that using Eko Refrigerated Meat Vans to convey processed meat from approved slaughter houses and abattoirs would prevent the meat from being contaminated before getting to designated markets across the State.
Alhaji Kabiru Mohammed, who is also a member of the Butchers Association at Oko-Oba Abattoir Market, commended the government for protecting lives of the citizenry with the enforcement of the use of Eko Refrigerated Meat Vans.
He stated that accidents of motorcycles carrying meat on bridges and highways would now be a thing of the past.Recall that the Lagos State Government on Monday, July 17th, 2017 banned the use nylon bags, rickety vehicles and motorcycles for conveying meat to various designated markets across the State.
