 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. LASG SEALS TOTAL FILLING STATION IN AKOKA TODAY FOR POLLUTION OF WATER.

     The Lagos State Government has sealed a Total Filling Station in the Akoka area of Lagos State due to alleged pollution of water sources.
The State Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Babatunde Durosinmi –Etti, who disclosed this at a Press Conference in Alausa on Friday, said that the attention of government was drawn to the issue when the filling station reported the leakage of its underground tank thereby causing concerns of water pollution in the community.
He noted that the government immediately intervened by directing the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) to carry out an Environmental Forensic Audit in order to determine the exact source and extent of the pollution. This is in addition to imploring the owners to effect necessary repairs to stop the leakage and resultant pollution of the Environment.
Durosinmi – Etti also called for the decommissioning of boreholes installed by the Station, while urging the management of Total to liaise with the Lagos Water Corporation for the supply of pipe-borne water pending further findings on the incident.While maintaining that the present administration would not hesitate to take any meaningful measure to protect the health and well being of the citizenry, the Commissioner informed that LASEPA had been mandated to monitor and ensure the implementation of the directives given to the owners of the fuel station.
