INEC Assures Nigerians Every Valid Vote Will Count in 2027 Elections The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Nigerians that every valid vote will count in the 2027 general elections, pledging a credible process that reflects the will of the people. The assurance was given on Thursday by Dr Adejumo Peter, Head of Voter Education and Publicity at INEC Kwara State, during a seminar organised by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ilorin.      Breaking News!
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has again affirmed the election of Senator Douye Diri of the PDP as the authentic governor of Bayelsa state.

This is in line with the review of its earlier judgment as requested by the APC.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed an application filed by the All Progressive Congress (APC), asking it to reverse a judgement that sacked David Lyon as governor-elect of Bayelsa State.
In a unanimous judgement, a seven-member panel of the apex court, led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, held that the application by the APC and Mr Lyon lacks merit and the court lacks the jurisdiction to review its own judgement.
Reading the lead judgement, Justice Amina Augie, in an angry tone said, “No force on earth can force the court to change its decision.”
Justice Augie further awarded the cost of N10 million each against the first, second and third applicants, to be paid to the first, second and third respondents, respectively.
