 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. COURT SENDS FORMER QUICKPAY STAFF TO 1 YEAR IMPRISONMENT FOR FRAUD IN GOMBE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Justice J.A. Awak of the Gombe State High Court, Gombe, Gombe on Thursday, July 1, 2021, convicted and sentenced one Benson Tivesue, a former staff of Quickpay Digital Solutions to one year imprisonment on one count charge of criminal misappropriation brought against him by the Gombe Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.


The convict was investigated and prosecuted by the EFCC after a petition by his former employer, Quickpay Digital Solutions, Gombe State office, alleging that he diverted the sum of N117,000 (One Hundred and Seventeen Thousand Naira only), being funds collected for the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JED) to which he converted to personal use.


The offence is contrary to Section 308 of the Penal Code Law and punishable under Section 309 of the same law.


 When the charge was read to the defendant he pleaded guilty, prompting his conviction and sentencing by the judge.


Tivensue was however given an option of N20, 000.00 (Twenty Thousand Naira) fine.


The court ordered him to restitute the nominal complainant to the tune of N57,000,00 (Fifty-Seven Thousand Naira only), which is to be paid within three months of the judgment.
