‘Conference Hall’ – Senators complain over poor quality of reconstructed Senate Chamber Senators on Tuesday expressed anger over the condition of the reconstructed Chamber, which they described as a ‘mere conference room’. Controversy has trailed the refurbished Senate Chambers since plenary resumed in the facility last week. Last Tuesday’s plenary was trailed by confusion as some Senators quarreled over sitting arrangements in the renovated chamber. During plenary on Tuesday, complaints over the standard of the Chambers led to a rowdy session which lasted for about 15 minutes and eventually forced the Senate into executive session. The Chief Whip of the Senate and lawmaker representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, who raised the issues through Order 42 of the Senate Standing Rules, said, “What is supposed to be a Chamber, has been turned into a Conference Hall”, a development which he said is not acceptable. “Mr President, I rise to make disturbing observations on this supposedly renovate

BRITISH FATHER OF THREE DROWNED AFTER FALLING FROM JETSKI ON HIS DAY OFF IN GHANA. (PHOTOS).

A father-of-three from Wales died when he drowned while jet-skiing in Africa, an inquest has heard.
Iwan Gwyn, 49, was jet-skiing off on a river near the capital Accra in Ghana on a day off from his work at a construction company when he became 'detached' from the vehicle. He was unable to be recovered.
An inquest opening heard his body has now been repatriated to the UK for a coroner to carry out an investigation.
Originally from Llanaelhaearn, Gwynedd, Mr Gwyn was a qualified quantity surveyor who worked in London and Dublin before moving to Ghana in 2012.
Iwan Gwyn, pictured with his wife Annie, died when he drowned while jet-skiing in Ghana.
He became a project director with Italian international construction firm Barbisotti.
He was on annual leave when he died on December 30.

Acting north west Wales coroner Katie Sutherland said: 'Iwan Gwyn had been out on a jet ski on the river at Alorkpem in Ghana.
'By 6pm it was dark and he somehow became detached from the jet ski and was unable to be recovered.
'He was pronounced dead at the scene and identified by Dr Stephen Anan.

'A post-mortem was carried out in Ghana which gave a provisional cause of death as asphyxiation or drowning and blunt head injury.

'His body has now been repatriated to this country and I will investigate his death by way of inquest.'
A full inquest is due to take place at a later date.
Mr Gwyn's brother, Dafydd, told the court of the heartbreak of his family, including his wife and three children.
'Iwan leaves his wife Annie and his three children Ben, Megan and Laura,' he said.
'The family would like to thank everyone who has been in touch to express their sympathies during this very sad time.'
'Fydd colled enfawr ar ei ol' - which translates in English as 'he will be sorely missed'.
A fundraising page has since been set up in his memory, with the proceeds set to go to charities chosen by his wife and family.
