 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. IGP CONGRATULATES NEW CRAN EXCOS

- Charges journalists on Balanced Crime Reportage

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc, congratulates the newly elected President of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), Olalekan Olabulo of the Tribune Newspaper, and other elected Executive Officials at the Association’s general elections held on Friday 6th May, 2022 in Lagos State.

The IGP notes that the new officials are individuals who have dignified and distinguished themselves in their various media fora, adding that the election is a recognition of their years of selfless service and commitment to value. He equally appreciates the outgoing officials led by the immediate past president, Sunday Odita, of the Guardian Newspaper, for their labor at maintaining a friendly mien while carrying out their statutory responsibilities.

The IGP while assuring of his administration’s commitment to leave no stone unturned in the fight against crimes and criminality in the country, urges the new officials to work collectively and closely with the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring a balanced reportage while the Force collaborates with CRAN for a safe, secured and peaceful country in general.
