 UNACCEPTABLE – GOV. ALIA BLASTS MBALOM KILLINGS, ASSURES JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS  Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has condemned the latest attack on Mbalom community in Gwer East Local Government Area, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable, while assuring residents of intensified efforts to protect lives and property. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor reacted to reports of an assault by suspected armed herdsmen on the community, an incident that adds to recurring security concerns in parts of the state. Alia said the attack represents a direct threat to the peace and security of Benue, noting a disturbing pattern of what he described as calculated and selective assaults. He expressed sympathy to affected families and reiterated his administration’s resolve to confront criminal elements. ICPC Arraigns Ibadan Polytechnic Staff Over Forgery

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arraigned a staff of The Polytechnic of Ibadan, Mr. Mosudi Osuolale Ashim, over alleged forgery and making false statements. Mr. Ashim was arraigned before the Hon. Justice Olalekan Owolabi of the Oyo State High Court 12, in Ibadan.

The Commission had filed a 3-count charge alleging that the accused presented a Curriculum Vitae captioned “The Polytechnic, Ibadan – Academic Staff Curriculum vitae for 2018 Annual Assessment” to the Management/Faculty of Engineering of Ibadan Polytechnic during the Faculty Promotion exercises in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

The charge alleged that he claimed to be a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) with Registration Number: R13988, knowing it to be false and with the intent to mislead the Polytechnic during the promotion exercise.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
