 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. TAKALAFIA COMMUNITY HOLDS MASS BURIAL FOR RESIDENTS KILLED BY UNKNOWN GUNMEN IN NASARAWA STATE. (PHOTO).



Takalafia Holds Mass Burial For Residents Killed By Unknown Gunmen

Gunmen suspected to be fulani herdsmen wreaked havoc on Takalafia community and environs in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. 

The pastor in-charge of the community's Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Daniel Danbeki and other residents were gruesomely murdered by the assailants during the attack on Thursday night which lasted till early hours of Friday May 12. 

Properties of the residents including foodstuffs worth millions of naira were also destroyed by the assailants. 

Neighbouring communities namely Gwanja and Angwan Bege according to reports were also attacked. 

Other residents of the communities who are predominantly Gwandara, Mada and Yeskwe among others also sustained various degrees of injuries. 

The Executive Chairman of Karu Local Governnent Area, Mr James Thomas who visited the community on Saturday condemned the attack in totality. 

Thomas represented by his Deputy, Mr Lawal Yakubu Karshi who warned the residents against reprisal vowed to arrest the perpetrators in order to face the full wrath of the law. 

Mass burial was held for the deceased victims in the community.
