 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. Tinubu's ministerial list not yet ready – Alake 

The presidency has said that President Bola Tinubu‘s ministerial list is not ready.

The Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy, Dele Alake who addressed journalists on Thursday, July 6, asked Nigerians to disregard rumours surrounding the awaited ministerial list.

Alake said; 

“About the ministerial list, there is no iota of truth in all of those things,” Alake said. “When the President is good and ready, you will be the first to know about his intentions.

“I can tell you all of those things you’ve been reading in the media are mere fabrications. This is an executive presidency; we’re not running a parliamentary system. So the President, the bucks stops on his table, and he decides when it’s fit and proper for him to make his cabinet list.”
