 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday. How 11-Year-Old Girl Was R@ped, Impregnated In Imo
 
An 11-year-old girl, Chizitere Onyebuenyi on Saturday, October, 27, 2023, told The Statesman roving reporter how she was allegedly raped and impregnated by a middle-aged man.

The teenager, a native of Umunama Umuekwune community, in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area, while narrating her ordeal, said the man took advantage of her twice.

The child explained, that the middle-aged man, whose name she could not remember, at the press time, sent her on an errand and directed her to take the item into his room, where he raped her.

She said, “He sent me to buy indommie noddle for him and when I returned, he told me to take it inside his room and he slept with me for the first time".

She further said, they are residing at the Number 5 Nekede old road and that the man responsible for her pregnancy has been poisoned by unknown persons.

At the time of filing this report, the victim was shy narrate more of her experiences during the incident.

This writer gathered, that mother of the teenager, who hawks fried groundnuts and her father, are aware of the present condition of their child.
