 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. How 11-Year-Old Girl Was R@ped, Impregnated In Imo
 
An 11-year-old girl, Chizitere Onyebuenyi on Saturday, October, 27, 2023, told The Statesman roving reporter how she was allegedly raped and impregnated by a middle-aged man.

The teenager, a native of Umunama Umuekwune community, in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area, while narrating her ordeal, said the man took advantage of her twice.

The child explained, that the middle-aged man, whose name she could not remember, at the press time, sent her on an errand and directed her to take the item into his room, where he raped her.

She said, “He sent me to buy indommie noddle for him and when I returned, he told me to take it inside his room and he slept with me for the first time".

She further said, they are residing at the Number 5 Nekede old road and that the man responsible for her pregnancy has been poisoned by unknown persons.

At the time of filing this report, the victim was shy narrate more of her experiences during the incident.

This writer gathered, that mother of the teenager, who hawks fried groundnuts and her father, are aware of the present condition of their child.
