 Four North Carolina utility workers were tragically killed when a dump truck driver drove through a stop sign and crashed into a crew of workers. This heartbreaking incident occurred at 1:23 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in Eden, North Carolina. According to reports, a City of Eden dump truck driven by 66-year-old Michael Vernon ran a stop sign at the intersection of Carroll and Church Street in Eden. After blowing through the intersection, Vernon struck 6 utility workers with Duke Energy who were working on power lines for Carolina Power and Signalization. The dump truck then struck an occupied bucket truck before going off the road into a ditch. Four of the utility workers were sadly pronounced deceased on the scene while 2 others were life-flighted to a nearby hospital in critical condition. LAGOS STATE POLICE COMMAND BRINGS IN POLICE OFFICER CAUGHT ON CAMERA SHOOTING IN LADIPO MARKET


- Commences Orderly Room Trial

The Lagos State Police Command has identified the person in a viral video shown shooting an AK47 rifle in Ladipo Market as Inspector Istifanus Kwanchi, serving in a Lagos squadron of the Mobile Police (MOPOL). 

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has ordered the immediate commencement of disciplinary proceedings against the officer for his unprofessional, unethical and dangerous behavior.

Meanwhile, members of the public are hereby assured that the Command will not tolerate any form of deviant behavior from its officers and men, while those found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with laid down rules.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
