 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  BET has announced the nominees at this year's award show.


Nigerian singers, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Tems, Asake, Seyi Vybez, Davido, and Lojay received nominations at the 2024 BET Awards.


At the 2024 BET Awards  Several Nigerian musicians  have been Nominated  the List  includes, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Tems, Seyi Vibez and Asake Are The Singers On The Nominations List.


Singer Ayra Starr garners three nominations as the Best New Artist, Best International Act, and the BET Her award—for her chart-topping single “Commas.”


She is set to face off with other famous artists like Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, and Megan Thee Stallion at the BET Her category with Victoria Monet also being present.


Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has been nominated twice for an American award. (the African giant) He is in the Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best Male R & B / POP Artist categories, this means he will contest with Chris Brown, Drake or Usher.


Looking at the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act, Seyi Vibez is being considered, whereas Asake is being considered for Best International Act alongside other artists, such as Tyla, Aya Nakamura, and Focalistic.


Tems was nominated for two awards with one being Video Director of the Year because she directed a music video “Me & U” while another one was Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award as well because she composed a song in collaboration with GuiltyBeatz.


Davido and Lojay got nominated at the Viewer’s Choice Award category for their feature in Chris Brown’s Afrobeats-infused song titled ‘Sensational’ as well.


BET on 8pm, June 30 on Sunday, the day of June 30th in Los Angeles will hold the 2024 BET Awards live event where the theme will be “Standing for Culture.”


The 2024 BET Awards Viewers’ Choice Awards voting starts on the 6th and closes on 30th June.


The nominations announcement was made on May 16 and it is reported that Canadian rapper Drake leads with seven while Nicki Minaj has six.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
