 HERDSMEN KILL DRIVER ON HUMANITARIAN MISSION IN TARABA STATE  10th January, 2026      A commercial driver, Mr. Amishe Omeny, has been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen while on a humanitarian visit to a displaced community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. The deceased, from Tse Amise after Tseem, was reportedly attacked on Friday within Chanchanji Ward as he travelled to Adokia, a displaced settlement located after Tseem Sabe. He was said to have gone to the area to assist villagers with the transportation of foodstuffs. Sources in the community told Benue Info-pedia, that Omeny volunteered his services as a driver to support residents affected by ongoing insecurity, when he was ambushed and killed by the assailants. The killing has sparked grief and outrage among residents, who described the incident as tragic and senseless.  President of Ukraine, Zelenskyy on Russia’s wanted list


Russia has placed the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy on its wanted list.

The state news agency, TASS reported that the Russian Interior Ministry database showed Zelenskyy was on a wanted list but gave no further details.

This was as Russia opened a criminal case against Zelenskyy.

Responding, Ukraine dismissed the report which it described as evidence of Moscow’s “desperation”.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said Russian President Vladimir Putin was himself subject to arrest under an International Criminal Court warrant.

The statement said: “We would like to remind you that unlike the worthless Russian announcements, an International Criminal Court warrant for the arrest of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on suspicion of war crimes is quite real, and subject to implementation in 123 countries.”

According to the ministry, the Russian announcement was “evidence of the desperation of the Russian state machine and propaganda, which can think of no other way to attract attention”.

In February 2022, Russia had issued arrest warrants for a number of Ukrainian and other European politicians.

Russian police in February put Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Lithuania’s culture minister and members of the previous Latvian parliament on a wanted list for destroying Soviet-era monuments.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
