 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  International Mother Language Day 2025: Mayor Tony Nwora Sparks an Igbo Heritage Revival in Onitsha North

On International Mother Language Day 2025, Onitsha North LGA Mayor, Tony Nwora, delivered an inspiring address, urging the community to celebrate and preserve the rich heritage of the Igbo language. 


"The native tongue is not only a means of communication but also the essence of the region’s identity and legacy." Nwora made this statement to commemorate International Mother Language Day 2025 at his office.


Mayor Nwora highlighted the importance of maintaining indigenous language traditions in an increasingly globalized world. 


He pointed out that while learning global languages opens up opportunities for international communication, the Igbo language remains the cornerstone of cultural continuity and pride. 


"Our mother tongue connects us to our ancestors and shapes our identity. It is imperative that we nurture and pass on this heritage to future generations," he remarked.


The Mayor outlined several new initiatives aimed at bolstering linguistics education in the community, which include partnerships with local schools to integrate indigenous language programs, community-run language workshops, and the development of digital archives to document traditional Igbo folklore and literature. 


He stressed that preserving the language is a shared responsibility. "Every conversation in Igbo, every cultural performance, and every classroom lesson contributes to the enduring strength of our heritage".


The Onitsha North boss, encouraged families to make Igbo an integral part of daily life, reinforcing the idea that the language is both a gift from the past and a bridge to the future.


Reflecting on the theme of this year’s celebration, “Preserving Our Roots: Celebrating 25 Years of Linguistic Diversity,” Mayor Nwora called for a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to ensure that the Igbo language continues to flourish. 


He expressed his belief that the collective efforts of the community would not only strengthen cultural identity but also serve as a foundation for social unity and progress.


He, then, urged every citizen to take pride in their linguistic heritage and to actively participate in its preservation. His heartfelt message resonated deeply with Onitsha people, inspiring a shared vision of a future where the Igbo language remains vibrant and influential.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.  Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
