 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Obidient Movement In Kaduna Plunged Into Crisis Over Leadership Imposition


A rift has reportedly emerged within the Kaduna Obidient movement, an organic group largely responsible for Peter Obi's 2023 presidential aspiration, sparking concerns about the movement's unity and cohesion ahead of preparations for the 2027 general elections.


Sources close to the movement’s leadership alleged that the crisis stems from what they described as the imposition of leaders from the national level, which has led to discontent among some members.


According to insiders, certain individuals from a single political camp in Kaduna State have been appointed to key positions without adequate consultation with other stakeholders, leading to accusations of nepotism and marginalization.


They said the development has raised serious questions about the movement’s commitment to democracy, inclusivity, and representation.


According to them, complaints have been made to the appropriate quarters, and the expectation is that the right steps will be taken as soon as possible. They added that the crisis may affect Mr. Peter Obi’s electoral prospects if not addressed promptly.
