Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed.  Obidient Movement In Kaduna Plunged Into Crisis Over Leadership Imposition

A rift has reportedly emerged within the Kaduna Obidient movement, an organic group largely responsible for Peter Obi's 2023 presidential aspiration, sparking concerns about the movement's unity and cohesion ahead of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Sources close to the movement’s leadership alleged that the crisis stems from what they described as the imposition of leaders from the national level, which has led to discontent among some members.

According to insiders, certain individuals from a single political camp in Kaduna State have been appointed to key positions without adequate consultation with other stakeholders, leading to accusations of nepotism and marginalization.

They said the development has raised serious questions about the movement’s commitment to democracy, inclusivity, and representation.

According to them, complaints have been made to the appropriate quarters, and the expectation is that the right steps will be taken as soon as possible. They added that the crisis may affect Mr. Peter Obi’s electoral prospects if not addressed promptly.
