 DELTA STATE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, GUN RUNNERS AND; RECOVERY OF TWO (2) AK-47 RIFLES, AND THIRTY-SIX (36) ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION The Delta State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in an intelligence-led operations targeting suspected kidnappers and illegal arms trafficking syndicate within and beyond the State. 1. ARREST OF FIVE SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS/ RECOVERY OF ONE AK-47 RIFLE AND THIRTY-SIX (36) ROUNDS OF 7.62MM LIVE AMMUNITION: On 24 April 2026 at about 1830hrs, operatives of the command's tactical team based in Ughelli, acting on credible intelligence arrested one Ahmadu Usman (m), 22, a native of Lafiya, Nasarawa State, at Ekuigbo area of Ughelli in connection with a kidnapping syndicate terrorising commuters along Ughelli–Warri Road.  Seun Kuti reacts to calls to free VDM


Nigerian singer and Saxophonist, Seun Kuti, says VDM’s arrest was as a result of his previous controversy with a gospel singer. Nigerian cuisine

VDM’s arrest in Abuja has sparked controversy online with several notable celebrities calling for his release.

Seun Kuti in a video stated that his claim is as a result of the conversation he had with VDM’S lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.

“VDM’s lawyer is my lawyer, and we’re currently entangled in a case with GTB and other banks.

“There’s no bank in Nigeria that’s a good bank,” Seun stated. Nigerian cuisine

Seun Kuti also claimed that VDM was a target of religious bodies and authorities.

“As Federal government is running our country, all these big pastors dey run Nigeria. The people of God are the ones fighting VDM for speaking the truth,” he said.

While advocating for his release, Seun emphasized that religious bodies are the ones fighting against VDM.
