 “We Don’t Want Violent Politics In Kaduna,” Group Tells Political Parties, Urges Them to Call Supporters To Order The Kaduna Peace Ambassadors Forum has called on political parties in Kaduna State to caution their supporters and prevent further violence following recent clashes involving members of major political parties in the state. The group said Kaduna had enjoyed relative peace for a long period and should not return to an era of violent politics. In a statement, the forum expressed concern that political disagreements and clashes in the past had sometimes escalated into religious conflicts, with consequences for communities across the state. It therefore called on security agencies to take appropriate measures to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the recent clashes, while strengthening preventive measures to avoid a recurrence.  Several Arrested for Illegal Mining in Mpumalanga


Police have arrested several suspects for illegal mining activities in the towns of Sabie, Ermelo, and Barberton. The arrests were made during recent law enforcement operations aimed at curbing illegal mining in the province.


According to police, the suspects were found in possession of mining equipment and illegally mined minerals. Authorities say these operations pose serious safety and environmental risks to local communities.


The arrested individuals are expected to appear in court soon. Police have warned that illegal mining remains a criminal offense and that further operations will continue across the province.


The Mpumalanga provincial government has urged residents to report any suspicious mining activities to the authorities.
