RE: FCT POLICE COMMAND CLARIFIES ALLEGED INCIDENT CAPTURED IN VIRAL VIDEO: COMMENCES INVESTIGATION
Sequel to the viral video incident involving allegations of Police harassment and extortion at Chikakore Bridge, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, psc, mnips, convened a series of investigative sessions at the Command Headquarters with the complainants, their legal representatives, and the involved Police officers.
In line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, the Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, ANIPR, supervised the investigative process to ensure fairness and transparency. After an extensive investigation, the case was formally determined today, 3rd July 2025.
A major part of the money involved in the incident has been successfully recovered from the erring officers and returned to the complainants, while arrangements are ongoing for the refund of the balance in due time. The public will be kept abreast of the final refund status as well as the outcome of the administrative actions taken against the officers involved. Disciplinary procedures have commenced in line with established Police regulations.
