Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. THE INDIAN GOVT HAS BANNED 25 STREAMING PLATFORMS, INCLUDING POPULAR APPS LIKE ULLU, ALTT, DESIFLIX, AND BIG SHOTS, FOR SHOWING OBSCENE AND SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONTENT.(PHOTO).

The Indian government has banned 25 streaming platforms, including popular apps like Ullu, ALTT, Desiflix, and Big Shots, for showing obscene and sexually explicit content.

Officials said these apps were spreading material described as ‘soft porn’ through erotic web series without proper content checks, violating the country’s IT Rules and laws on obscenity.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) took the decision after receiving several complaints and reports. The aim of the ban is to protect minors from harmful content and ensure that online entertainment stays within legal and moral limits. The move follows consultations with various government bodies and experts in women’s and children’s rights.

The banned apps and platforms were found to be misusing creative freedom to share vulgar and adult content. Notifications were issued under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and IT Rules, 2021, to ensure that access to these apps and websites is blocked in India. Platforms affected include Rabbit, Nuefliks, Prime Play, Voovi, Hunters, MoodX, Mojflix, and others.

Leaders like Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi welcomed the decision. She had earlier raised concerns about the content on Ullu and ALTT, calling this ban a long-overdue step. The government had previously banned 18 OTT platforms in March 2024 for similar reasons, blocking a total of 19 websites, 10 apps, and 57 social media accounts linked to them.
