 ANAMBRA POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED DRUG DEALER, RECOVER ILLICIT DRUGS WORTH ₦5.8 MILLION IN OTUOCHA As CP Nnanna notes that illicit drugs can fuel criminality, charges officers to sustain targeted operations to nip crime in the bud The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old suspected drug dealer, identified as Chinedu Nwankwo, and recovered a large quantity of suspected Cannabis Sativa, Methamphetamine and Colorado (Colos), estimated at ₦5.8 million. The suspect was arrested in the early hours of today, 29th August 2026, by operatives of the Rapid Response Team during an intelligence-driven patrol operation along the Nteje–Otuocha Road. Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect was allegedly conveying the illicit substances to Otuocha, Anyamelium, Nzam, Umuleri and Aguleri areas for delivery to suspected criminal elements.  Italy Crushes Nigeria 4-0 to End Flamingos’ U-17 World Cup Dream


Nigeria’s Flamingos crashed out of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on Tuesday, suffering a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Italy in the Round of 16 at the Mohammed VI Football Academy.


The Azzurrine dominated from the start, breaking the deadlock in the 45th minute through Anna Copelli’s clinical finish just before halftime.


Italy doubled their advantage early in the second half when Caterina Venturelli struck in the 58th minute. Giulia Robino piled on the misery five minutes later with a 63rd-minute goal that effectively ended Nigeria’s hopes.


Rachele Giudici sealed the rout in stoppage time, scoring in the 92nd minute to complete a comprehensive victory.


The heavy loss ends Nigeria’s campaign in the knockout stage, as Italy advances to the quarterfinals.
