 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings. House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas celebrated his 60th birthday at Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja. Represented by Deputy Chief of Staff Chamberlain Dunku, he launched the registration of 100 inmates for 2025 NABTEB (57) and NECO (43) exams, according to Nigerian Correctional Service PRO Umar Abubakar. This reflects Abbas’ commitment to inclusive governance and education for rehabilitation. Deputy Controller General Olanrewaju Amoran, representing the Controller General, called the venue choice historic and hopeful. FCT Controller Peter Gen noted the visit underscores support for correctional reforms.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
