NFL Hall of Famer Kenny Easley dies at 66
Kenny Easley, the legendary safety for the Seattle Seahawks, has passed away at the age of 66, the team confirmed Saturday. The Seahawks honored him for his "leadership, intensity, and fearlessness," sending condolences to his wife and three children. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Easley, known as “The Enforcer,” was the fourth overall pick in the 1981 NFL Draft out of UCLA. Over seven seasons with Seattle, he recorded 32 interceptions, including a career-high 10 in 1984, when he also earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. A five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, Easley played a key role during the 1987 NFL strike as a labor representative for the team. His career was cut short in 1988 due to idiopathic nephrotic syndrome, a serious kidney disease. Easley was inducted into the Seahawks Ring of Honor in 2002 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
