No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

'SUPERMAN' NO. 1 COMIC FROM 1939 SELLS FOR RECORD $9.12 MILLION. (PHOTO)

'Superman' No. 1 comic from 1939 sells for record $9.12 million

A 1939 copy of Superman No. 1 has set a new world record for the most expensive comic book, selling for $9.12 million.

The comic was discovered by a family in Northern California while clearing out their late mother’s attic. It had been stored in a cardboard box alongside old newspapers. The book was graded 9.0 out of 10 by CGC, the leading third-party comics grading service, making it the highest-graded copy of Superman No. 1 known to exist. Only seven other copies of the comic have ever received a grade of 6.0 or higher.

The auction price shattered the previous record of $6 million, set in 2024 when a copy of Action Comics No. 1—featuring Superman’s first appearance—was sold.

Heritage Auctions Vice President Lon Allen described the comic as “a milestone in pop culture history” and praised both its condition and the remarkable story of its discovery. Co-founder Jim Halperin said the sale highlights the growing recognition of the value and historical significance of pop culture collectibles, noting it could mark an early stage in their rise to record-breaking auction prices worldwide.
