Speaker Ibrahim Boughali was authorised to formally present the draft bill during a plenary session of the lower house, according to the statement, Anadolu Agency reported. Addressing lawmakers, Boughali said he is honoured to present the draft bill criminalising French colonisation. He described the proposal as more than a legislative initiative, calling it a defining moment in modern Algeria through which the state, via its legislative institution, renews its commitment to national memory and the conscience of history.  Nnamdi Kanu’s Wife Recounts 2009 Abduction on Their Traditional Wedding Day

Uchechigeme Anyanwụụtụtụ Okwu-Kanu, wife of detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has shared a personal account of her husband’s alleged abduction in 2009, describing it as a traumatic event that occurred on the day of their scheduled traditional marriage.

In a social media post on Friday, Mrs. Okwu-Kanu detailed the hardships she and her husband endured in their pursuit of what she called the “restoration and transformation” of their people.

She alleged that on December 19, 2009, Kanu was abducted in broad daylight in front of their family square by men loyal to Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, founder and leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). According to her, Kanu was assaulted and publicly humiliated during the incident.

Mrs. Okwu-Kanu claimed her husband’s only “offence” was opposing the alleged exploitation of the Igbo cause, including the production and sale of so-called Biafran passports, vehicle number plates, and proposals to issue currency for personal profit.

She accused Uwazuruike of betraying Kanu, stating that the memory remains deeply painful.

Concluding her post, she wrote: “I will stop here for today. But understand this: there are battles in which the only weapon you possess is time. And in a little while, Nnamdi Kanu will be free.”.
