NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court.  Phalaborwa Teen in Court on Two Rape Counts

A 14-year-old boy from Phalaborwa appeared before the Namakgale Magistrate’s special court on Thursday, 08 January 2026, facing two counts of rape allegedly committed in the Gravelotte.

The alleged incident occurred on Saturday, 03 January 2026, at around 15:00, when the suspect reportedly lured two boys, aged 8 and 9, into nearby bushes along the railway line.

It is alleged that the suspect raped one of the boys and then forced the other boy to rape his friend, resulting in charges of rape and compelled rape.

The matter came to light on Tuesday, 06 January 2026, after the children’s guardian was informed that a known male suspect had taken the boys to the bushes and raped them.

The case was reported to the Gravelotte Police, and the victims were taken to hospital for medical examination, where sexual intercourse was confirmed.

The teenager was subsequently arrested and made his first court appearance at Namakgale Magistrate’s Court today.

The 14-year-old accused is expected to appear again in the Namakgale Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 05 February 2026, to face charges of rape and compelled rape.
