Barack Obama 'confident' America will have a female president 'sometime soon': 'It’ll become normalized' Barack Obama recently expressed optimism about America’s political future, saying he believes the country will elect a female president “sometime soon.”  In an interview with People, the former president explained that just as his own election in 2008 helped normalize the idea of a Black president, he expects that a woman in the Oval Office will eventually be seen as unremarkable.  He noted that once the milestone is reached, public focus will shift to everyday issues like gas prices and policy outcomes rather than the novelty of gender. Obama’s comments highlight the progress women have made in politics, from governorships to Senate seats, while acknowledging that the presidency remains elusive.  Police Reportedly Arrest Two Over Witchcraft Allegation Against Elderly Kaduna Woman In Nasarawa

An elderly woman who was allegedly accused of witchcraft by her biological children has been rescued following the intervention of community leaders and authorities.

The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), in collaboration with the Dung Development Community Abuja (DCA), stepped in after the incident to ensure the woman’s safety and well-being.

Following their intervention, the elderly woman was safely returned to her residence on March 1, 2026.

Her home is located along Church Road, opposite Manchester Hotel and Resort in New Karu, Nasarawa State.

In a bid to resolve the dispute peacefully, the Alhaji Umar Musa, a Second Class Chief from Sanga Local Government Area, sent a delegation to mediate the matter.

The team was led by Amboson and Zinta Musa, Personal Assistant to the Chairman of Sanga Local Government Area, alongside other representatives.

The delegation held a meeting with officials of SOKAPU, the Dung Development Community Abuja, and the woman’s children to find a peaceful resolution and restore harmony within the family.

However, according to sources present at the meeting, the children were reportedly unwilling to reach an amicable settlement.

During the discussions, several troubling issues were said to have emerged.

Due to the escalating situation, the Nigeria Police Force intervened and took over the case. As part of the ongoing investigation, two of the woman’s children have been arrested and are currently in police custody for further questioning.

Leaders of SOKAPU and the Dung Development Community Abuja Branch have called for calm while authorities continue their investigation.

They also urged community members to promote peace, respect for elders, and resolve disputes through lawful and peaceful means.
