CNG Bus Explosion Rocks Kaduna Motor Park, Several Buses Destroyed

A powerful explosion early Sunday morning sent shockwaves through the Mando Garage Motor Park in Kaduna, destroying multiple vehicles, including two luxury buses, according to SaharaReporters.

The blast occurred around 4:00 AM, causing panic among drivers, passengers, and bystanders at the busy transport hub.

Preliminary reports indicate that the explosion originated from a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered bus operated by Silver Travel & Luxury Bus.

The force of the blast was so strong that it engulfed a second luxury bus parked nearby.

Eyewitnesses described a deafening sound followed by a sudden eruption of flames and thick black smoke that quickly covered the area.

Several smaller vehicles in the vicinity were also damaged in the incident.

Digital creator Mahmud Ahmad Abubakar, who visited the site, posted photos showing the charred remains of the buses, with frames of one luxury bus reduced to twisted metal.

“The exact cause of the explosion is still under investigation, but it may involve gas leakage, cylinder failure, or improper handling of the CNG system,” Abubakar stated.

Fortunately, no lives were reported lost despite the scale of the destruction.
