 KADGIS To Introduce Land Agents Registration To Tackle Property Fraud The Kaduna State Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) has announced plans to introduce a registration system for land agents as part of efforts to improve accountability and reduce property-related fraud in the state. The Director-General of KADGIS, Dr Bashir Ibrahim, disclosed this on Wednesday in Kaduna during a town hall meeting on the 2026 Land Administration Reforms. Ibrahim explained that the proposed system would require every land agent operating in Kaduna State to obtain a unique and non-transferable agent code. According to him, the code would make it easier for KADGIS to identify the agents involved in land transactions and determine responsibility whenever disputes or fraudulent activities occur. “Every agent must obtain an agent code. SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY AND GRIEVOUS HURT IN NINGI


Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a 27-year-old suspect for armed robbery and causing grievous hurt to a commercial motorcyclist along Gada Maiwa–Zakara Road in Ningi Local Government Area.


On 11th May, 2026 at about 1400hrs, the suspect, Abdullahi Gambo, male, of Kanaka Village, Ganjuwa LGA, was reported to have attacked an Okada rider with a stick and struck him on the head. The victim sustained varying degrees of injury and was immediately rushed to a medical facility, where he is currently responding to treatment.


In the course of the attack, the suspect escaped with the motorcycle. However, he was pursued by the operatives of Ningi Division and locals, apprehended, and the stolen motorcycle was recovered immediately. 


During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the offence. He is currently in custody and assisting investigators as the case is being processed for onward transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID) for discreet investigation and prosecution.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+), condemned the act and reiterated the Command’s resolve to deal decisively with criminal elements threatening public safety. He further urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to the nearest police station for prompt intervention.
