Peter Obi visits Isaac Fayose amid controversy over Seyi Tinubu meeting

Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, on Saturday, July 18, paid a visit to businessman, Isaac Fayose, in Abuja.

The visit comes barely 24 hours after Fayose called out Obi for not visiting him despite his consistent support for his presidential ambition.

Fayose said this in a video released after he was bashed by Obi’s supporters for hanging out with Seyi Tinubu and praying for his father, Presidnet Tinubu.

Fayose had shared a video of him, Seyi and others praying for President Bola Tinubu, themselves and the country.

The meeting sparked reactions online, particularly among supporters of Obi, with some questioning Fayose’s engagement with associates of the presidentand his loyalty to Obi.

Responding to his critics, Fayose said he has a right to associate with anyone he so choose to. He mentioned that since he has been supporting Obi and even gave up his hotel in Ibadan for his campaigns, Obi has not deemed it fit to even appreciate him or tell him thank you.

Less than 24 hours after Fayose’s outburst, Obi visited the businessman at his Abuja residence.

In a video shared on Fayose’s page on Saturday, the former Anambra State governor was seen engaging in a light-hearted conversation with his Fayose.

Addressing the online backlash, Obi suggested that many of those behind the online attacks were not “following” him.

“Half of the people that abused you don’t follow us. What they do is hire people to call others all sorts of names.”.
