Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.   Convicted First-Degree Murderer Now Runs NGO and Teaches at Penn Law, Praises Hamas and Hezbollah


A man convicted of first-degree m_rder now leads a major nonprofit and teaches at Penn Law, while publicly praising Hamas and Hezbollah.


Robert Saleem Holbrook was 16 when he acted as a lookout in a drug deal that turned into a robbery and m_rder.


Pennsylvania convicted him of first-degree m_rder as an accomplice and sentenced him to mandatory life without parole.


He served 27 years, including time in solitary, before being released in 2018 after the Supreme Court ruled against mandatory life sentences for juveniles.


Today, Holbrook is Executive Director of the Abolitionist Law Center and a Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Carey Law School.


On October 11, 2023, four days after the Hamas massacre, Holbrook wrote publicly that “Hamas and Hezbollah have proven to be the most rational actors in the Middle East” and that their objective of weakening Israel “is not fanaticism, it is strategy.”


A convicted first-degree m*rderer now holds positions of influence, draws a six-figure salary from a nonprofit, and teaches future lawyers while defending terrorist groups that slaughtered civilians.
