Joshua and Natalie Strong alleged that Brown Fertility clinic officials in Jacksonville, Fla., including Medical Director Dr. Samuel Brown and 10 other defendants, caused the mix-up that resulted in their 1-year-old daughter’s biological father being a stranger, according to a lawsuit obtained by The Post. “They trusted Brown Fertility, as well as its founder and owner, Samuel E.  AY reveals musicians now demand up to ₦200m to perform at comedy shows


Popular comedian AY Makun has opened up on the rising cost of bringing top Nigerian musicians to comedy shows, revealing that some artistes now demand as much as ₦200 million for a single appearance.


In a video, AY explained that his comments were not meant to attack Nigerian musicians or criticize the music industry, but to help fans understand what goes on behind the scenes when they expect to see several big artistes at comedy shows.


According to him, things were different in the early days of AY Live, as many musicians performed largely because of friendship, mutual support and the relationship they had with comedians.


He recalled having major names like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Phyno, P-Square, D’banj and 2Baba perform at AY Live shows across different cities.


However, AY said the industry has changed significantly, with Nigerian musicians now operating as global stars and earning from streaming, international endorsements and other foreign-currency opportunities.


He revealed that he has approached some artistes for comedy shows and received fees of ₦200 million, ₦120 million and ₦80 million respectively.


“Sometimes, the fee for just one artist covers the entire budget of the production, both AY and every early comedian put together,” AY said.


He pointed out that organisers still have to pay for venues, production, sound, screens, security, publicity, comedians, staff and several other expenses needed to put together a quality show.


AY also appealed to fans to understand that comedy shows should not always be judged by the number of musicians performing.


He encouraged people who want comedy to simply come out to laugh and support comedians, noting that comedians like Chris Rock and Kevin Hart don’t need musicians to make their shows successful.


According to AY, the comedy industry has enough to offer audiences and deserves to be supported on its own.
