 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. ACE BOXER BASH ALI,DETAINED BY THE NIGERIAN POLICE IN ABUJA.

                According to sources,Edo state born boxer,Bash Ali,was at the headquaters of NEXIM Bank in Abuja to see it's Managing Director,Robert Orya to demand the release of the N150 million financial support to aid the hosting of a competition.The money is to be given to the Local Organizing Committee,LOC,inaugurated by the former chairman of the National Sports Commission,Bolaji Abdullahi in January.Bash Ali who had been having a running battle with the M.D of NEXIM Bank over his refusal to release the money could not see him yesterday,instead he was arrested by men of the Nigerian Police attached to the Federal secretariat in Abuja when he arrived the premises at the bank.Bash Ali said ''I was at the bank yesterday only to be arrested.The Divisional police office D.P.O,attached to the station told me to write a statement,but i told him that i won't write anything because i was at the bank to demand for the legitimate money that Mr Orya has to give to LOC of the fight.No kobo has been released because they want a private meeting with me,which i refused.The government of Nigeria gave me a national honour,but see where i am today?.The Police were told to detain me like an armed robber because i demanded that the President's order must be strictly followed''.One more picture below.
