 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. SUSPECTED DEBRIS FROM THE 2014 MALAYSIA MISSING AIRLINE,FOUND AT MADAGASCAR OCEAN.

               Today thursday,Malaysia Airlines said it was premature to speculate on the origin of aircraft debris that had washed up on La Reunion Island in the southern Indian Ocean east of Madagascar.No trace has been found of the MH370,a Boeing 777,which disappeared in March last year carrying 239 passengers and crew from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing,in what has become one of the greatest mysteries in aviation history.The statement said Malaysia Airlines was working with authorities to determine the origin of the debris.A U.S official said air safety investigators,including a Boeing air safety investigator,had identified the component as a ''Flaperon'',from the trailing edge of a 777 wing.One more photo below.
