  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. 5 BOKO HARAM WERE ARRESTED YESTERDAY ALONG DIKWA ROAD,BY THE NIGERIAN ARMY.{PHOTOS}.

                  Following reports by some good citizens about Boko Haram terrorists activities and on hearing of very loud explosions near Dikwa yesterday wednesday morning,the 27th of April 2016,troops of 22 Brigade embarked on a patrol to Ajiri and Antul villages,South East of Dikwa along Dikwa-Gulumbagana road.The patrol made contact with Boko Haram logistics elements who specialised in using the 2 villages as base for food storage and other logistics before moving them to Bama and then to Sambisa forest.In the encounter 5 Boko Haram terrorists were arrested comprising 3 adults and 2 minors.The under aged male children were dressed in new Boko Haram uniforms we earlier reported.The troops recovered 1 truck,2 Golf cars painted in mud,4 bicycles and 3 x 5kva power generating set,as well as 55 bags of corn.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relations.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
