 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. FIGHTING CORRUPTION HAS BECOME A NATIONAL PROJECT-EFCC.{PHOTOS}.

       Zonal Head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Ishaq Salihu, has charged Nigerians from all walks of life to accept the fight against corruption as a national project needing the support and cooperation of all. 
He gave this charge on Monday, December 11, 2017 in Port Harcourt, while addressing artisans, market men and women and other interest groups at the Mile One Market area of the city. According to him, fighting corruption has become a civic responsibility of every well- meaning Nigerian in order for the nation to move forward. "We must come together to tackle the cancer of corruption. Fighting corrupt practices has become a national project. It is now a civic responsibility and an engagement that cannot be wished away. He continued, "there is a nexus between corruption and infrastructural problems in Nigeria. There is a nexus between corruption and bad roads; between corruption and non- functional hospitals and other institutions that are not working well. If we come together to tackle this monster, Nigeria will move forward faster than we can imagine", he said. Salihu explained to the crowd that the Road Walk organized by the EFCC was in commemoration of the United Nation's World Anti- Corruption Day and reiterated the commitments of the EFCC to the anti- graft war. "We are moving forward. The EFCC has shown that every act of corruption can never go un- punished. Money is being recovered and assets are being forfeited to the government. I want to encourage you to be more forth coming with information. The Whistle- Blowing Act has lots of benefits to informants. You can work with us as you furnish us with credible information about criminal elements around you", he said. The Road Walk took off from the EFCC's office in the old Government Reservation Area, G.R.A, Port Harcourt and milled through the Mile One bridge and terminated at the popular Mile One market in the city.Amidst singing, trumpeting and dancing, members of different Civil Society Groups, Youth Corp members, artisans, passers-by and staff of the EFCC painted the city red with anti- corruption messages. Some of the placards carried read messages such as: " We Must Kill Corruption", "Together, We Can Tackle Corruption", "Shun Corruption" among others.More photos below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
