 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

THE Wife of the President of Eggon Youth Movement (EYM) worldwide, Mrs Ruth Daniel Yaro Anyuabaga has been kidnapped Tuesday night at her residence in Lafia, Nasarawa state by suspected armed Fulani men.
Husband of the kidnapped victim, Comr. Daniel Yaro Anyuabaga said they were at home around 10pm when they saw Unknown people in the compound and started shooting sporadically at the main entrance of his house while he noted that, they gain access to the house and began to ask of him but the wife said that he is not around.
'Within 5 minutes they whisk my wife away'
The kidnappers numbering about 7 according to one of the vigilante group member who had an encounter with the kidnappers, that as soon they discovered strange movement around Youth Leader house, they swung into action which led to the gunmen shooting his car and damaged his windscreen.
Confirming the development in a telephone conversation, State Commissioner of Police, Bola Longer said four persons have been arrested while motorcycle used for the operation have also been recovered.According to the CP, those arrested include two fulani herders two indigenes .
The commissioner who gave an assurance that the kidnapped victim would be rescued and reunited with her family, called on the public especially the resident of the state to assist the police with useful information that could lead to the rescue of the house wife.
He stated that the kidnappers would not have a hiding place in Nasarawa state as the police are determined to rid the state of crimes and criminality.
The Sun news correspondent in Lafia, Faith Awa Maji said sympathizers including the CAN Chairman of Nasarawa State chapter who was kidnapped last two weeks and later released were at the house of the victim to sympathize with her family.
