 Court Jails Two for N14.8m Fraud in Maiduguri Justice B.T Zannah of the Borno State High Court sitting in Maiduguri, on Monday, July 13, 2026 convicted and sentenced two to three years imprisonment. The convicts are: Babagana Bukar and Hauwa Chabri.  The convicts were arraigned on Monday, July 13, 2026 by the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a separate one -count charge for the offence of criminal misappropriation to the tune of N14,800,000.00 (Fourteen  Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira). The charge against Bukar reads: "That you, Babagana Bukar sometimes in 2025 at Maiduguri, Borno State within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, dishonestly misappropriated and converted to your own use the aggregate sum of N8,800,000.00 (Eight Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira)  money belonging to Bunu Gambo Liman, being amount given to you through Babakura Umar and Bello Adamu for the supplies of 100 bags of IRS...

LASG COMMISERATES WITH FAMILY OF LATE BISHOP OLUSOLA ORE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

 

The Lagos State Government, on Friday, commiserated with the family of Late Bishop Olusola Ore, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on the demise of the Bishop.
The Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi, speaking during a condolence visit to the home of the Late Bishop, expressed condolence to the family on behalf of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Government.
According to him, “The State Government, through the State Ministry of Health, rendered all medical support to the late Bishop while he was ill but all efforts proved abortive. The Governor empathised with the family and the body of Christ in Nigeria, particularly the Lagos State CAN and PFN”.
Presenting a Letter of Condolence to the family and CAN on behalf of the State Government, Elegushi consoled the widow of the deceased to take solace in the fact that the late Bishop is in a better place and had touched so many lives with kindness during his stay on earth.
The immediate younger sister of the late Bishop, Mrs. Erinfolami, who responded on behalf of the family, thanked the representatives of the Lagos State Government for the visit as well as the kindness and benevolence of the present administration towards the family, promising to update the State Government on the burial arrangements as planning progresses.

Other members of the visiting team included the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mrs. Adebunmi Elizabeth Adekanye; the Special Adviser to the Governor (Christian Religion), Reverend Bukola Adeleke; Executive Secretaries of both Christian and Muslim Boards, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe and Mr. Rahman Ishola respectively, among others.
The late Bishop Olusola Ore, who died on Monday, 26th October 2020, was the Chairman, Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) and also the Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State Chapter.
