 ‘Conference Hall’ – Senators complain over poor quality of reconstructed Senate Chamber Senators on Tuesday expressed anger over the condition of the reconstructed Chamber, which they described as a ‘mere conference room’. Controversy has trailed the refurbished Senate Chambers since plenary resumed in the facility last week. Last Tuesday’s plenary was trailed by confusion as some Senators quarreled over sitting arrangements in the renovated chamber. During plenary on Tuesday, complaints over the standard of the Chambers led to a rowdy session which lasted for about 15 minutes and eventually forced the Senate into executive session. The Chief Whip of the Senate and lawmaker representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, who raised the issues through Order 42 of the Senate Standing Rules, said, “What is supposed to be a Chamber, has been turned into a Conference Hall”, a development which he said is not acceptable. “Mr President, I rise to make disturbing observations on this supposedly renovate

LASG COMMISERATES WITH FAMILY OF LATE BISHOP OLUSOLA ORE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

 

The Lagos State Government, on Friday, commiserated with the family of Late Bishop Olusola Ore, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on the demise of the Bishop.
The Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi, speaking during a condolence visit to the home of the Late Bishop, expressed condolence to the family on behalf of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Government.
According to him, “The State Government, through the State Ministry of Health, rendered all medical support to the late Bishop while he was ill but all efforts proved abortive. The Governor empathised with the family and the body of Christ in Nigeria, particularly the Lagos State CAN and PFN”.
Presenting a Letter of Condolence to the family and CAN on behalf of the State Government, Elegushi consoled the widow of the deceased to take solace in the fact that the late Bishop is in a better place and had touched so many lives with kindness during his stay on earth.
The immediate younger sister of the late Bishop, Mrs. Erinfolami, who responded on behalf of the family, thanked the representatives of the Lagos State Government for the visit as well as the kindness and benevolence of the present administration towards the family, promising to update the State Government on the burial arrangements as planning progresses.

Other members of the visiting team included the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mrs. Adebunmi Elizabeth Adekanye; the Special Adviser to the Governor (Christian Religion), Reverend Bukola Adeleke; Executive Secretaries of both Christian and Muslim Boards, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe and Mr. Rahman Ishola respectively, among others.
The late Bishop Olusola Ore, who died on Monday, 26th October 2020, was the Chairman, Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) and also the Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State Chapter.
