“Catholics do not fast, they only feast! They do n0t pray fire by fire …”. Same thing they told Jesus: “your disciples do not fast, they only eat and feast…”. And Jesus would answer — how do you expect them to fast when Emmanuel( the groom) is with them! When Emmanuel is taken away, then they’ll fast! (Mt 9:15). No wonder the only difference between the words “fast” and “feast” is the letter “E” referring to Emmanuel.
When Jesus (Emmanuel) is there, we will be feasting, rejoicing and being happy always; when Jesus is not there, it will be all fasting and sufferings and pains. And Catholics are the only ones who seriously believe that Jesus is there concretely in the Eucharist. How then do you expect them to fast and suffer and pray fire by fire when Emmanuel is there in the Eucharist with them always!
