Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive. Anambra House Of Assembly Receives List Of Commissioner Nominees 



Anambra State House of Assembly has received list of commissioner nominees from the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo for confirmation. 

The commissioner nominees are: Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, Professor Offornze, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma,Miss Chiamaka Nnake,Dr. Afam Obidike,Mr. Patrick Aghamba,Mrs Ifeyinwa Obinabo,Dr. Obinna Ngonadi,Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh,Mr. Paul Nwosu,Mr. Ifeatu Onejeme.

Others are Mrs Patricia Igwebuike,Engr. Felix Odimegwu,Mr. Chikodi Anara,Professor Sylvia Ifejeme,Mr. Collins Nwabunwanne, Mr. Donatus Onyenji,Barrister Anthony Ifeanya and Mr. Paulins Onyeka. 
 
In his remarks,the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor  explained that the commissioner nominees shall constitute members of the Executive Council upon confirmation by the House in line with section 192 of the 1999 constitution as amended. 

The speaker referred the list of commissioner nominees to the House Committee on Screening to work on it and report back to the House. 

Also at plenary, the House confirmed fifteen special advisers for Governor Chukwuma Soludo in accordance with section 196 of the 1999 constitution as amended as requested by Governor Soludo.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
