 Germany and Austria to tap oil reserves after 400 million barrels requested  Germany and Austria announced they are releasing portions of their oil reserves in response to an International Energy Agency request for member nations to collectively release 400 million barrels to help ease rising energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. Japan also said it will begin releasing part of its reserves starting Monday. The move marks one of the largest coordinated releases of emergency oil stocks in history. The previous record came in 2022, when IEA members released 182.7 million barrels following the energy disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Member countries currently hold over 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil stocks, along with an additional 600 million barrels of industry stocks maintained under government requirements. Portable Will Face 6-Count Charge — Force PRO

The Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has stated that controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has at least a six-count charge against him and he would appear at the court to clear his name.


Responding to a Twitter user who stated that the police were slow to act against MC Oluomo, who threatened some electorates during the 2023 elections, but swift to pick Portable up, the Force PRO in a tweet noted, “I am sure u are very awake as I have addressed MCs case, but portable has more than 6 count charges to attend to, apart from resisting arrest and injuring a policeman. He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Otta, who fired a petition to CP Ogun.


“There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated bc pple have complained against him. So, there is no sentiment in law, let him appear in court, and allow the judge to listen to the charges against him. He has no constitutional immunity anyway. Ire o.” (sic)


Recall that Portable, earlier in the week, shared an Instagram Live video claiming that some police personnel stormed his bar at Sango Ota at the instance of an Internet fraudster (Yahoo Boy).


The video, which has since gone viral, sparked some outrage online, which prompted the Ogun State Police Command to invite the singer to their office. However, Portable refused to show up.


On Friday, the singer was picked up by policemen and is expected to spend the weekend in detention.
